Relay For Life 2010. Southern Ontario Event Photographer.

Last Friday, I happily donated my services to capture the 2010 Relay For Life fund raiser by the Canadian Cancer Society.

What an amazing group of people!! Everyone there was incredibly happy, positive and ready to have some fun and bring some awareness and raise some money for an extremely important cause.

Anyone wearing a yellow shirt is a survivor of cancer, and continue their fight against the deadly disease that affects so many families all over the world. They are the heroes of the night.

The event goes all night long, as participants camp out in teams and take turns walking a track into the wee hours of the morning. All while enjoying some good food, friends, fun activities, and listening to some great live bands on the main stage. So much fun!!

The most emotional part of the evening has to be the luminato ceremony, where the track is lines with candle lit paper bags with messages written on them to the loved ones who have had cancer touch their lives. The sight is very beautiful and touching.

My part was a small one compared to the many committee members and volunteers that were there to help. All of them did an amazing job. I only hope my images convey the true feelings of the night for them.

Please please consider donating some time or money to this very important cause if you can. visit their website at www.cancer.ca

THANK YOU SO MUCH BRIAN. You truly have capture the night! Our committee starts planning for each Relay in July, and it takes a full year to get everything together to make the event happen, and it is great to have all our memories captured in pictures!
We appreciate everything you have done to make Relay a memory for everyone to share.
We hope to see you again June 10, 2011!
